Bambi: A Life in the Woods is a 1923 Austrian coming-of-age novel written by Felix Salten. An English translation by Whittaker Chambers was published in 1928 and the novel has since been translated and published in over 30 languages around the world. It was adapted into a theatrical animated film, Bambi, by Disney in 1942.
