Dublin’s most used books

James Joyce

“I love the community around the book, the readings, the costumes, the plays. Parts of the book are unreadable, other parts endlessly rewarding.”

Conor Humphries , Dublin 8

“It is the greatest book ever written in English. I have read it sixteen times.”

Hugh Wilde , Bluebell

Ulysses was first published as a serial in the American journal The Little Review from March 1918 to December 1920. It was published in its entirety in Paris by Sylvia Beach on 2 February 1922, Joyce's 40th birthday. It is considered one of the most important works of modernist literature.
