Rialto, Dublin 8

What book do you keep recommending to friends?

The book that I keep recommending to friends is The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa. This character really thinks about himself and his life in relation to all the people who surround him, and work with him.

There is a great interpretation of life.

What book could you not put down?

The book I couldn't put down is Skylight by Jose Saramago.

This book describes the lives of a group of people, who live all in the same block. There is a really good description, the characteristics of the people, the way they look, the way they think, the way they behave with each other, which gives you a very vivid image of what life must have been like for these people.

What is your favourite book right now?

My favourite book right now is The Springs of Affection by Maeve Brennan. So these are short stories about Ireland in the fifties. The personalities and characters, they help you to understand what Irish people are like.
