It is a book that translates hard times but finds strength in friendship.

What is your favourite book of all time?

The Becoming by Michelle Obama and Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela.

They're both books that show dedication, strength, resilience, compassion and empathy - these are my four corner stones of living a life of purpose.

What book do you remember most from childhood?

Thing's Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe and Diary of Ann Frank.

Tell us a bit about them ...

I don't know to express my feelings on these books - I learnt how to read books through these books as they were on my school literature curriculum.

Which of your books is battered from using over and over again?

Darina Allen and Jamie Oliver books.

They are books that help you find simple ways of cooking at home with the best fresh, healthy and not complicated meals - grown and picked from the garden freshly into the kitchen .

What more can you ask for.

What is your favourite book by an international author?

Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain.

Tell us a bit about it ...

I loved his journal - it was not only about food but his passion to seek connections and highlight the most hidden and best countries of the world.

He had the best way of featuring those dishes into something relatable and also connecting food to its culture.

What book do you feel depicts your own or another culture most vividly?

I have many if I had to choose one it will be Long Walk to Freedom or The Becoming.

Their are inspirational stories that give so much strength.

Is there a book that changed your mind/perspective about something?

Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Some novels tell a great story and others make you change the way you look at the world - Americanah does both.
