Just started... It's about a group of Paris intellectuals at the end of the World War II and their lives.

What is your favourite book of all time?

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

Tell us a bit about it:

It's teaching how to end psychological pain (any type of it: anger, fear etc.) through being here and now, with quiet mind.

What book do you remember most from your childhood?

Bambi, a Life in the Woods by Felix Salten.

Tell us a bit about it:

It's about a male roe deer, Bambi, from his birth through childhood, the loss of his mother, the finding of a mate, the lessons he learns from his father and experience about the dangers posed by human hunters in the forest.

Which of your books is battered from using over and over again?

Time and Place by Yury Trifonov.

There's a few novels in it, mostly about the life in Moscow from 1930s through to 1970s, telling the life of a writer.

Which book do you feel depicts your own or another culture most vividly?

The Issa Valley by Czesław Miłosz.

Tell us a bit about it:

It's about life seen through the eyes of a boy, the son of a Polish-Lithuanian landowner living side by side with Lithuanian peasants, his sharp experience of the time and surrounding countryside nature, local customs that are still pagan, at the beginning of the 20th century.

Was there a book that really changed your mind about something?

The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy.

My first encounter about two decades ago with a self-help book - namely about the possibility of employing one's subconscious mind for changing one's life.
